'De Hemel om 4 uur in de ochtend' / 'Heaven at 4 a.m.'



Een fictieve ontsnapping.
De loper op de interactieve loopband wordt geconfronteerd met filmbeelden, een ontsnapping met fragmenten van ‘de mooie buitenwereld’, en ontmoetingen met mensen daaruit.

We constructed an interactive running belt to make possible a ‘fictitious escape’. Escapes were filmed from the roof, the kitchen and the bakery lorry. The escape route out of the prison can be manipulated by the running behaviour of the delinquents on the interactive running belt. The runner can see film footage of his escape to the south of Italy. Twenty-eight hours of film is stored in a computer, divided into several cities. The runner can vary the speed and will thereby enter different image layers that relate to the chosen running speed.
